Africa is a beautiful destination and more so Kenya and Tanzania that are the go-to safari destinations. Kenya and Tanzania are an all-year-round destinations – you can have an incredible safari any time of the year. The wildlife is abundant, plains are flourishing and people are welcoming.
The decision of when to go on safari will depend on the purpose of your trip. The months of January and March offer the best safari experience in Kenya. The climate is mild and dry. The vegetation is sparser and game viewing is at its best – the wildlife is easier to spot.
If you are looking to visit Kenya during the warmer summer months, then you’ll want to visit between December and March. April to June, November to December are the rainy seasons. Although a visit during this time is not good for wildlife viewing, you can still have an amazing experience as the plains are lush with greener vegetation. The crowds are ever fewer.
If you are planning to witness the Wildebeest Migration spectacle in the Maasai Mara, then the best time to visit is in the months of July to September. You can also catch the wildebeests making the return journey to Serengeti in Tanzania from end of October and early November.
Beach Visit at the Kenyan Coast
The Kenyan coastline boasts sandy beaches and warm tropical blue waters. You can walk along the white beaches of the Kenyan coast all year. The months of March to May sees the highest temperatures and rainfall so if you are planning to visit be prepared or travel outside of these months.
Snorkelling and diving lovers can explore the coast during the months of October, November and March when the water is clear. Between July and September another migration takes places – of Humpback whales. These majestic creatures pass by the Kenyan coast where they gather in the warm coastal waters to calve and mate. It’s a magnificent experience.
