Lots of Elephants & Panoramic Views of Mount Kili
Amboseli comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust. The park is the “Home of the Gentle Giants”. This is because of the large herds of elephants that are found here. In fact, the park has the highest concentration of elephants in the country.
It is the perfect place to catch panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.
Watching the wildlife against the backdrop of the impressive mountain is an awe-inspiring experience.
It’s a dream photographer’s destination.

Wildlife that can be spotted here include four of the Big Five – lions, elusive leopard, buffalo and elephants. Zebras, gazelles, wildebeest, buffalos, hippos are also a common sight. Besides wildlife, Amboseli is also an excellent spot for bird watching.
Although Amboseli is an all year round destination, it is best to visit during the dry and warm seasons.
