Sanctuary for Rhinos
Situated between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares lies Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
The animal sanctuary boasts more than 10000 large animals. It is also the only park in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees; these are animals that have been rescued from the black market. It is also a sanctuary for the southern white rhino and the endangered black rhino.

Spot the Big Five
At Ol Pejeta Conservancy, you can spot all the big 5 animals (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo) as well as cheetah, Grevy’x zebra and the Jackson’s hartebeest. It is also a bird watchers haven with more than 300 bird species.
Ol Pejeta offers a unique safari experience. Besides game drives, visitors can explore the plains either by cycling, horse or camel rides. It is also the few parks in Kenya that offer night game drives.
How To Get There
By Road – it takes 3 to 4 hours from Nairobi to Nanyuki.
By Air – Nairobi to Nanyuki is a 1 hour flight. Ol Pejeta is a 45-minute drive from the airstrip.
