For off-the-beaten road Adventures
Samburu National Reserve is perfect for off the beaten track adventure. Since it is remote, you are less likely to encounter huge crowds of people. Situated along the bank of Ewaso Nyiro River, the reserve is rich in wildlife and has a high concentration of animals than any other park in Kenya. It also hosts what are known as the “Samburu Special Five”, the Grevy zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, beisa oryx and the long-necked gerenuk.
Other wildlife that can be seen here include elephants, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs. It is also a good spot for bird watching escapades; there are more than 450 species of birds. Besides wildlife, visitors get the opportunity to interact with the local communities by visiting the Samburu villages.
Samburu National Reserve is vast and offers visitors a truly authentic wilderness experience.
