This safari takes you through the rugged Amboseli where you’ll encounter large herds of elephants and witness the picture perfect views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Soak in the mesmerizing sights of Maasai Mara Game Reserve; home to the wildebeest migration, amazing wildlife and scenic plains. Relive the atmosphere in Lake Nakuru; flamingoes, hippos and more.
This safari gives you all; game drives, bush breakfasts, sundowners and you can opt for a spectacular hot air ballooning sunrise.
Upon your arrival in Kenya’s capital, you’ll be met by our Maasai Loita Tours representative and transferred by private vehicle to Tamarind Tree Hotel.
Depending on the time of your arrival, you can go on below optional city excursions:- Visit to the Karen Blixen Museum (once home to the author of the evocative “Out of Africa” book). Giraffe Centre; which protects the highly endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust; an orphanage for young elephants. Nairobi National Park; the only wildlife national park in the world that is located within a city.
Lunch and dinner on own basis. Overnight at Tamarind Tree Hotel.
After a refreshing breakfast, we’ll depart the hotel and make the exciting journey southwards towards Amboseli National Park famous for its spectacular view of the snow peaked Mount Kilimanjaro and large herds of elephants. You’ll arrive at Ol Tukai Lodge/similar in time for lunch and after a short rest, experience your first afternoon game viewing drive in the park. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
You’ll spend today being captivated by the beauty and splendour of the Amboseli. After breakfast, depart for a full day game drive at the park. Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, is one of Kenya’s most popular national parks. The snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds dominates every aspect of Amboseli. Besides elephants, other attractions in Amboseli include the Observation Hill that lets you have a 360 views of the stunning flora and fauna. You’ll also spot other wildlife such as the lions, hippos, cheetahs, zebras, buffalo and lots of bird species.
Wake up to a hearty breakfast and afterwards, depart Amboseli and be driven towards the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving at Sarova Lion Hill / Similar just in time for lunch. Freshen up and in the late afternoon, enjoy a lively game drive in park that also takes you to the shores of the lake famous for its birdlife, especially flamingos that form a pink hue across the lake. You’ll have dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
You’ll depart Nakuru after breakfast and drive through the floor of the Rift Valley to the world famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve, arriving at Sarova Mara Game Lodge/similar in time for lunch. The plains of the Maasai Mara are a wonder to behold.
You’ll traverse the magnificent terrain and witness the never-ending interactions on the plains. The breath-taking sunsets, wildlife dotted grasslands and of course the animals. The Mara is home to the Big Five: the lion, Cape buffalo, African elephant, rhinoceros and the elusive leopard. Keep your eyes peeled as you hunt for the last members on your “must see” list.
Visit the Mara River to watch hippos & crocodiles and the great wildebeest migration (this phenomenon takes places from July to October). Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
You’ll continue with your adventure in the Maasai Mara. Today, you’ll experience the whole spectacle of the Mara plains by going on both morning and afternoon game drives. Alternatively, you can opt to depart with lunch boxes and spend the entire day on game drives in the park.
The Mara is the northern extension of the Serengeti and its rolling plains are home to hundreds of plains game together with predators that patiently lie in wait for them. If you are lucky, you can spot a lion chasing after an antelope or zebra. Still, there are plenty of attractions in the park.
You can make your visit in Maasai Mara even more eventful & memorable by visiting some of the local Maasai communities living nearby. Get to learn about their customs and way of life.
This will be your final day in the Maasai Mara. Wake for an early morning game drive, come back for breakfast before driving back to Nairobi arriving in the early afternoon. Lunch at the Carnivore restaurant and then transfer to the airport for your international flight back home.
